V.Lytvyn, Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, deems necessary to support the people who work and reside in the countryside.
The leader of the Parliament made the above-mentioned statement, meeting residents of Stryivka, village in Ternopil region.
Dwelling upon the complexity of current economic situation, V.Lytvyn stated that after the global financial crisis "the world will become tougher and the problem of food supply will remain critical". In such a context, V.Lytvyn deems necessary to exert every effort to introduce modern technologies in agrarian sector.
He also called for cancellation of a resolution, pursuant to which, the village residents who own more than 0.25 ha of land were not liable to obtain the status of an unemployed and receive social aid.
The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for establishment of single tariffs for public utilities all around the country.
